So not only is this fruit salad light, fresh and flavorful....

But it's also filled with all the beautiful colors of summer and the fresh tasty fruits that go with it.

And you may be thinking WHY would I need a recipe for fruit salad.... it's just fruit.

Well it's kinda like anything... whether it be potato salad, pasta salad or fruit salad...everyone has a unique or interesting twist on how to make them...

Sooo this is all about sharing with you my best combination of fruits to use.

    Summer Fruit Salad

Plus tips for making a fruit salad the whole family is going love.

What selection of fruit is in this Summer Fruit Salad:

    1. Mandarin oranges
    2. Strawberries
    3. Blueberries
    4. Pineapple

Blueberries, strawberries, mandarin oranges, and pineapple cut up in a bowl.

This selection of fruit just goes so well together and is something most everyone loves...

Even the pickiest young children will love this.

But the most important part to any fruit salad is to use ripe fresh fruit.

It's okay to switch it up some and use other fruits as long as it's fresh.

Tips for making the best Summer Fruit Salad:

Use a variety of different textures and flavors....

And if you plan on storing this for a few days... then use things that are going to hold up well.

You don't want to have mushy fruit in your salad...

So I would avoid bananas since they tend to get brown and mushy.

Also cutting up the fruit in varying sizes makes for a more interesting salad... both flavor wise and texture.

How long will my fruit salad keep in the fridge.....

A lot of that depends on how well you keep it stored.

It should last at least 3-5 days in the fridge if stored in a sealed airtight container.

I've actually had it keep longer and I sometimes prefer it after it's set in the fridge several days.

I am trying to watch my weight and avoid the typical heavy sides people serve at parties. Bringing this fruit salad will be a great way to that!
