    Hey there Guys...

Let's talk summer beverages.. Shall we...

These super easy to make wine slushies are great for entertaining or just hanging out with family and friends.

And since watermelon is a staple in most households during the summer months...

Then why not turn it into some refreshing beverages.

You may also want to check out this Watermelon Lemonade which is a favorite in our family during the heat of the summer.

Ingredients needed for these Wine Slushies:

    • Frozen Watermelon and Strawberries
    • Lime juice
    • White Wine- I recommend a sweeter wine such as a Riesling or Moscato

But certainly feel free to use your favorite wine in these...

Watermelon chunks, strawberries and lime wedges in a white bowl.

    How to make Wine Slushies:

First of all you're going to have to freeze the watermelon and strawberries.

You can freeze the watermelon early in the day or even a couple days ahead.

Another option is to add ice if it was last minute and you didn't have time to freeze the watermelon.

I've actually done it both ways and prefer to just use frozen fruit instead of adding ice.

Once your fruit is ready to go you just add it to the blender and gradually add wine till you get the desired consistency of your slushie.

Note: I only used half a bottle of wine for 4 large slushies. But like I said that's a personal preference based on how thick you like them.

How to make these Slushies kid friendly....

Just use sparkling water or plain water in place of the wine... Blend and serve.

    Can I store these slushies:

If you do have any leftovers or you made them ahead you can actually pour it in a loaf pan just like you would homemade ice cream and cover with plastic wrap.

It really takes several hours for the slushie mix to freeze solid so unless you're drinking them the next day you should be good to go.

If it freezes solid you can set it out about 20-30 minutes prior to serving.

This would be perfect for a summer BBQ. I must say, I would be tempted to put some rum in it though.
