Warm Creamy Spinach Dip is the perfect appetizer to serve at gatherings or parties. It's always a crowd pleaser that is both Vegetarian and Gluten Free.
I wanted to share at least one more appetizer before the big game day that you could serve up. I actually don't just reserve these appetizers for game days.
HOT SPINACH DIP
Is such an easy spinach dip recipe to make for games, parties or entertaining. It's a dip that's creamy and delicious served with chips, bread or crackers.
It's also great anytime you're having guests cause you can make this or other dips up ahead of time and have them ready to go.
Of course I make them for myself and my husband anytime cause we're Snackers and love to have different things readily available and this Warm Creamy Spinach Dip is one of our families favorites.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR WARM SPINACH DIP
- Spinach leaves
- Butter
- Cream Cheese
- Garlic
- Onion
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
- Sour Cream
- Half & Half Cream
- Seasoning
Anyway I hope you'll try this dip but you may want to double the recipe cause it tends to go fast.
I made this over the holidays and could have easily doubled the batch without any leftovers.
And it's always nice to have some dips readily available for times when you're just looking for a quick snack.
Another one of my favorites is Black Eyed Pea Hummus.
I'm always trying new versions and try to make them as easy as possible. I did use fresh spinach in this one (cause fresh is always better) but you could also use frozen spinach.

- 6 ounces fresh spinach leaves
- 4 ounces cream cheese dotted
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese

Add spinach in batches and cook an additional 2-4 minutes until spinach is slightly wilted. Add salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Remove from heat and put in medium mixing bowl using slotted spoon so as not to add liquid from cooking.
- Add dotted cream cheese to warm spinach and combine till melted.
- Add remaining ingredients and combine well. Pour into casserole dish and top with additional parmesan cheese. Bake in preheated oven 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven let stand about 10 minutes. Serve warm.
Jessica
I added 8 ounces of cream cheese on accident! And tip on what I could do to help? It’s really cheesy and gooey now
Stephanie
Hi Jessica, I would try sautéing more onion, garlic and spinach and add that to the dip! Hope that helps! Let me know how it turns out.
Paula
Loved it! Made it a couple weeks ago and making it again this evening.
Stephanie
Yay! So glad to hear that! Thanks for letting me know.😘
Sandee Schaefer
This has become one of my very favorite appetizers! Thanks so much for sharing your delicious recipe! 🙂
Stephanie
You're welcome Sandee! And I appreciate you stopping by to let me know. 😘❤️
Daisy
Can I substitute the 1/2 & 1/2? If so what do you think would work?
Stephanie
Hi Daisy, I would suggest if you need to substitute the half & half try using Whole Milk.
karina
Do you think it'd be alright to make overnight for a potluck
Stephanie
Hi Karina, you can definitely make this ahead if that's what you're asking. Just allow to cool slightly before refrigerating and warm right before the potluck or right before serving.
Lulu
I love it. Used fat free cream cheese and 2tbs of low fat shredded mozzarella cheese. Ate it with homemade sour cream biscuits. Really delicious !!!
Stephanie
Yay 😘 So glad to hear you loved it. Thanks for stopping by to let me know Lulu!
Deborah
My oven is not working can I use my crockpot for this delicious recipe?
Stephanie
Hi Deborah, that should work perfectly fine. Once you do the preliminary steps, when it comes time to put it in the oven just put it in the crock pot on low for approximately 4 hours or high for about 1 1/2 hours. Let me know how it works out for you 😉
Val
I’m thinking of using this dip, add, some artichoke, grill a portabella mushroom, then put the dip in there. That would be really low carb and yummy don’t ya think?
Stephanie
What a great idea! That sounds fabulous...let me know how it turns out 😀
Rachael
Can this be frozen? How long would it last in the fridge with fresh ingredients? I made a double batch for a night with friends, but had to cancel. My hubby and I definitely can’t eat it by ourselves.
Stephanie
Hi Rachael, I've never tried freezing this so I'm not sure how that would work. I have kept it in the fridge for up to a week without any problem. Just re-heat as needed. It's really good on so many things so you could also try using it as a topping on say baked potatoes or other things and make a meal out of it...Hope this helps 🙂 Let me know if you try freezing it!
Stephanie
Thanks Cynthia. And yes you can definitely do that! I've done that many times. Just warm it up around 250 degrees for about 10-15 minutes till creamy again.
Cynthia
Looks amazing! Can this be refrigerated and reheated for the next day?
Olivia
Thank u! Can't wait to try it...?
Olivia
What kind of hot sauce do u normally use to put in this dip?
Stephanie
Hi Olivia, one of my favorites is Franks Red Hot sauce original and generally what I use in this dip 🙂
Brittany
What is dotted cream cheese? I'm trying to make this receipt and can't seem to find anything on google about dotted cream cheese.. please help!! I'm making this tonight! ?
Stephanie
It just means to break it up into little small bite sized pieces. Kind of like you would dot butter. It just makes melting it and mixing it so much easier. Let me know if this helps 🙂
Lizzie
